Drew Gooders: Hector Velasco

Drew was super excited to chat with Hector Velasco, a UPS driver whose act of kindness made a huge impact on his community. He noticed four-year-old Langston Walbuck who was feeling lonely and isolated during quarantine and Hector brought him a special delivery full of toys and candy to cheer him up. Hector, knowing how much the pandemic had affected his own daughters, wanted to make sure that every child felt noticed and cared for during this time. Hector is known to blast metal music from his truck and so Drew surprised Hector with a surprise video from one of his favorite artists, Matt Heafy from the Platinum rock band Trivium! Matt, a Gibson Brand Ambassador, and Drew gifted Hector a brand new Gibson Les Paul Classic in Ebony.

Kerin Mackechnie is an amazing mom to two boys, Jack and Drew. Two years ago, her husband, Ian, passed away from Leiomyosarcoma. Despite everything the family has faced, Kerin has stayed incredibly strong and positive. And thanks to these incredible partners, we are able to give Kerin the master bedroom of her dreams so she can relax and unwind.

Drew’s News - New Jersey Food Pantry

Drew was delighted to have Barney Corrigan of South Jersey in studio to discuss his free neighborhood food pantry. Barney turned his garage into a judgement free zone for people in his community who were running low on groceries. Our friends at Conagra Brands believe that everyone should have access to great food and donated $10,000 to Barney’s Place Food Pantry !

In our first ever Designed by Drew, Drew explores her passion for design and decor by surprising a family of essential workers with a brand new backyard oasis. The Copening family received brand new furniture and accessories from Pottery Barn as well as a plant-based lawn from SYNLawn of New York. The team at Weber-Stephen's LLC sent over their Genesis II gas grill and Ooni Pizza Ovens provided a new oven with pizza accessories to match. Tyson Foods and its brands topped it all off with a year supply of food valued at over $5,000! The Copenings will enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner from Tyson Foods and its brands, including Hillshire Farms, Ball Park, Jimmy Dean and Raised and Rooted.
