Do you like scary movies?! Get ready for shivers up your spine...with the latest installment of the "Scream" franchise! Drew’s character Casey Becker was the first to meet Ghostface, and now, he’s back to haunt a whole new cast of characters! Both the original cast (link) and the new cast joined Drew for a week of episodes devoted to all things Scream! (Check out Drew reprising her Casey role on the show!)
The Wonder Years
So many of us grew up with the magical coming-of-age television show The Wonder Years, and now, it’s back for a new generation! Fred Savage is at the helm, now behind the camera as executive producer and director, but the show still illuminates the similarities between the hopes, dreams, and challenges we all face. Fred Savage teased a little bit about the show, and the wise-beyond-his-years star Elisha E.J. Williams shared what the show means to him. Open your heart to the new edition of The Wonder Years!
It’s a bird!...It’s a plane! It’s...Naomi! Naomi centers around a high schooler, obsessed with Superman, who realizes that she may have superpowers of her own... The show reminds Drew of her Charlie’s Angels days, as Drew was a pioneer for women in action roles! Plus, the show is created and executive produced by Ava DuVernay, and Ava never misses.
What do you get when you combine a star-studded cast, captivating characters, and a psychological drama that will have you on the edge of your seat?! Yellowjackets is the answer! Drew presses refresh on her computer, anxiously awaiting each episode as they slowly roll out (weekly old-school style). Well, what are you waiting for?!
The Golden Girls
The Golden Girls stay relevant, as comfort TV, friendship, and sassy older women never go out of style. Drew is utterly inspired by the hilarity of Blanche, Dorothy, Sophia, and Rose and hopes and prays to be like those groovy gals someday. Drew and Ross even gushed about The Golden Girls this week and paid a well-deserved tribute to its late star Betty White.
Are you ready for your new favorite show?! It’s about to be: Grand Crew! Grand Crew is a fresh take on the ensemble comedy and centers around friends who talk out their problems at their local wine bar. Ummm...could it get any more #relatable?! Reminiscent of classic comedies like FRIENDS or Happy Endings, Grand Crew will crack you up, reminding you of you and your friends’ adventures. (Plus, Roy Wood Jr. endorses the show!)
Time for the adventure of your life... Yellowstone is Drew’s latest TV addiction -- think Succession but with ranchers. The show is gritty, dramatic, and tense, and will have you gripping your remote on the edge of your seat! Drew binge-watches this show whenever she can, and never wants it to end!
Netflix’s The Standups
This week on the show, Drew and Roy Wood Jr. discussed how comedians have gotten us through this year by distracting us and providing us an escape and catharsis through their work. Roy Wood Jr. can't say enough good things about the lineup of all-star up-and-coming comedians featured Netflix’s The Standups.
And Just Like That
And just like that...They’re back! Your favorite Sex & the City characters couldn’t leave you hanging for too long! Reunite with your besties, Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte over mimosas in their next chapter “And Just Like That.” Drew chatted with Kristin Davis on the show about just how much Sex & the City means to her. Now, who’s hungry for brunch?!
"Encanto" celebrates two of Drew’s favorite things: the beauty of family, and the magic that lives in all of us. The animated family movie stars The Madrigals who secretly live in the mountains of Colombia in a magical place called the Encanto. A girl named Mirabel learns that she must save her town in an adventure that will make you feel like you can do anything!
Everyone deserves a second chance. Drew describes believing in this mantra for her own self, and "Hacks" explores the first and second chances we give to each other. "Hacks" is a hilarious show that explores an unlikely duo -- an aging comedian and her young assistant. This HBOMax series is definitely no hack!
For fellow crime story lovers, "Broadchurch" is Drew’s latest recommendation. The star-studded cast includes David Tennant, Olivia Colman, and Jodie Whittaker...enchanting actors who captivatingly lead the poignant mystery.
Being the Ricardos
In the new Aaron Sorkin film, "Being the Ricardos," Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem inhabit two television legends -- Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Drew comes from Hollywood royalty and absolutely devours anything that captures that golden age. Peek behind the scenes at the trials and tribulations of one of the most legendary Hollywood couples out there!
Jamie Oliver’s Quick & Easy Food
Jamie Oliver is one of Drew’s most trusted sources for easy, cozy meals. In his show, Jamie Oliver shares his favorite simple recipes from his book "Jamie's Quick & Easy Food" that you can incorporate into your routine. “Stressed” is just “desserts” spelled backward with this easy, breezy, beautiful cooking guide!
The Other Two
The Other Two follows two siblings of a famous tween star as they grapple with their own failures while their younger brother becomes an international superstar. Created by two former Saturday Night Live head writers (Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider), you know you’re in good hands. Drew loves how the show expertly satirizes and skewers fame, while showing how finding yourself is the key to happiness no matter who you are.
Queer Eye (Season 6)
Queer Eye is the antidote to any crummy day. The show and the spirit of its stars truly brighten up the day, and the stories that unfold are not only healing and inspiring for those on the show, but healing for all of us in the audience as well. Best news ever? Antoni, Tan, Bobby, and Jonathan stopped by the show to give Drew tips while she is on a date with a chef... And trust us, it’s cuteness overload!
WWE Superstar John Cena already LOOKS like the ultimate superhero, and now he actually is one! As the Peacemaker, his main goal is (obviously) emphasizing peace, which Drew’s sunny self certainly can relate to! Drew chatted with John Cena on the show about his role and the interview took an incredibly thoughtful and unexpected turn!
Cobra Kai on Netflix
Everyone can't stop talking about Cobra Kai... including Drew! The show gives you the warm hug of nostalgia with an action-packed modern take on the Karate Kid movies! Drew discussed how she and her kids are hooked on the show with its star, Ralph Macchio!
Don't Look Up
Leonardo DiCaprio. Jennifer Lawrence. Meryl Streep. Cate Blanchett. Ariana Grande. Timothée Chalamet. Kid Cudi. Chris Evans. Jonah Hill. The list goes on, and Drew's jaw drops further and further at the immense talent packed into this film. How lucky are we to be alive on a planet at the same time as ONE of those artists, let alone all of them! And, because we want to be alive for future all-star ensembles, Don't Look Up brings these A-listers together in a satire that opens our minds and asks us the tough questions about our society and how we struggle with climate change action.
