Wahlburger-Style Bacon Jalapeño BBQ Cheeseburger

Recipe ingredients:

	<li>1½ lb ground beef&nbsp;(80/20 for best flavor)</li>
	<li>Kosher salt &amp; freshly cracked black pepper, to taste</li>
	<li>4 slices American cheese</li>
	<li>4 hamburger buns</li>
	<li>8 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked until crispy</li>
	<li>2 fresh jalapeños, thinly sliced</li>
	<li>1 ripe avocado, sliced</li>
	<li>½ cup BBQ sauce&nbsp;</li>
	<li>1 tbsp butter or oil, for the pan</li>

	<li>Form the patties: 
	Divide beef into 4 equal portions, 6 oz each, and gently form into patties slightly wider than the buns (they’ll shrink as they cook). Press a small dimple in the center of each to keep them from puffing up. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.</li>
	<li>Cook the burgers: 
	Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle to medium-high. Add a bit of butter or oil. Sear the patties for about&nbsp;3–4 minutes per side, depending on desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of American cheese to each patty and cover briefly to melt.</li>
	<li>Assemble: 
	Spread BBQ sauce on both the top and bottom buns. 
	Layer: bottom bun → cheesy patty → avocado → slices bacon → jalapeños →&nbsp; extra drizzle of BBQ sauce → top bun. Enjoy!</li>
